Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder –Manzoor Ahmad Dar, who secured an Indian Premier League (IPL) contract with Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for Rs 20 lakh for the 11th season of the IPL 2018, is not only elated with his success, but his entire village – Suganpora Ganastan, a remote village of Kashmir’s Sumbal town is celebrating since he got selected for the popular T20 league.
The 24-year-old Dar’s selection in the IPL overwhelmed the entire villagers, who were seen dancing on the streets and the video went viral on the social media.
The video has been doing the rounds over social media and one clip also reached to the former Indian cricketer –Mohammad Kaif, who shared a wonderful message on his official Twitter handle with the video clip, hailing the Kashmiris for their support to Dar.
He wrote, “What a wonderful feeling it must be for Manzoor Dar to watch the celebrations.If instead of a gun,the youth pick up a bat,if instead of stones,the youth pick up a ball,the atmosphere in Kashmir will become beautiful.They need to be encouraged to play a sport & govt should support.”
