Ishant Sharma to lead Delhi in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018

Besides Delhi, Mumbai and Bengal also announced their squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018.

Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) named pacer Ishant Sharma as captain while Pradeep Sangwan as his deputy for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018. Earlier he was ignored from being picked up by any of the IPL franchise in the recently concluded auction. 

The Vijay Hazare tournament, which is also known as the Ranji One Day Trophy is slated to begin with the first game between Bengal and Maharashtra on 5 February at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Nadaun.

The state association also announced a 15-man squad, which included big names like Gautam Gambhir, Rishabh Pant, Unmukt Chand and Kshitiz Sharma for the limited-overs domestic tournament.

Delhi will play its first match against Uttar Pradesh in Bilaspur on February 5 under Ishant Sharma, who was not picked by any team for the upcoming IPL 2018.

Meanwhile, Mumbai and Bengal also announced their teams for the upcoming tournament.

Delhi squad: Ishant Sharma (c), Pradeep Sangwan, Gautam Gambhir, Rishabh Pant, Hiten Dalal, Dhruv Shorey, Nitish Rana, Lalit Yadav, Unmukt Chand, Navdeep Saini, Kulwant Khejroliya, Subodh Bhati, Pawan Negi, Manan Sharma, Kshitiz Sharma.

Bengal squad: Manoj Tiwary (c), Sudip Chatterjee, Shreevats Goswami (wk), Abhimanyu Easwaran, Abhishek Raman, Writtick Chatterjee, Anustup Majumder, Vivek Singh, Kanishk Seth, Ashok Dinda, Sayan Ghosh, Mukesh Kumar, Aamir Gani, Pradipta Pramanik, Sumanta Gupta, Ishan Porel.

Mumbai Squad: Aditya Tare (c), Dhawal Kulkarni (vc), SK Yadav, Siddhesh Lad, Akhil Herwadkar, Jay Bista, Shivam Dube, Shashank Singh, Eknath Kerkar, Aakash Parkar, Dhrumil Matkar, Royston Dias, Shams Mulani, Shubham Ranjane, Shivam Malhotra
