Young Afghanistan leg-spinner –Rashid Khan, who is currently representing his trade for Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing season of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2018 will be the main man for the Strikers leading into the semi-final against Melbourne Renegades on 2 February in Adelaide.

The 19-year-old has taken the BBL 2018 by storm in his maiden season of the tournament, finishing the league stage as the joint highest wicket-taker alongside Renegades’ Dwayne Bravo with 17 scalps.

His stunning display in the Australian T20 league grabbed many eyeballs across the world, as well as provoked Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to splash out Rs. 9 crores in the IPL Auction 2018 on Saturday to retain his services for the upcoming 11th season of Indian T20 league.

It was not only the great news for Rashid Khan but also his Strikers team-mates as “he’s taking everyone out for dinner this week.” Rashid’s Strikers teammate Peter Siddle, on Monday, said that the entire team is eagerly waiting for dinner at Rashid’s expense. Siddle also revealed that Rashid was very nervous over the weekend due to auction but now he is very excited to represent once again SRH.

As per Omnisport, Siddle said, “He’s taking everyone out for dinner this week. We’re looking forward to that - I think the boys aren’t going to eat for a couple of days, then load up on Rash. But it was amazing for him, from his background and how hard he works to perfect his game and to make cricket a living, not just for him but looking after his family back home. I spoke to him this morning, he was very nervous over the weekend with the wait but he’s very excited now that it’s over and done with.”

While speaking about IPL Auction, Siddle said many players get nervous about it and Rashid is a happy after getting picked up by SRH for his second season with the franchise.

The Australian seamer is impressed with the Afghan leg-spinners’ gesture of thinking of the Adelaide boys, as ‘Rashid says he’ll be a lot happier if his team reach the BBL 2018 final’.

Siddle signed off by saying, “I think a lot of boys get nervous about the auction, but it’s finally out of the way. He’s got his team, he’s got the bid that went very well for him so he’s a very happy man. But he did say he’ll be a lot happier if he gets the win on Friday night, so that’s good to see that he’s still thinking of the Adelaide boys.”
