BAN vs SL 2018: Bangladesh recalls Abdur Razzak for Lanka Test

Bangladesh announced 16-man squad for the first Test against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh announced  a16-man squad on Sunday for the first Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka, starting from Wednesday at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

The Tigers included veteran left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak, who was not seen donning national colors since last three years, as an additional cover for the injured Shakib Al Hasan in the national squad.

The 35-year-old gets the national selection recall after his recent success in the domestic circuit, as he became the first Bangladeshi bowler to take 500 first-class wickets, leading this season's wicket-takers' list with 40 wickets in 9-matches. So far, Razzak has played 12 Tests and picked up 23 wickets.

The left-arm spinner Sunzamul Islam and allrounder Tanbir Hayder has been named as a replacement for Shakib, who had injured his left little finger during the tri-series final, which won by Lanka in Dhaka on 27 January, while Mahmudullah will lead the side in the absence of injured all-rounder.
