Indian skipper Virat Kohli is making every record look easy with his batting. Kohli had faced taunts for scoring only in batting friendly conditions. He gave a befitting reply by becoming the highest run scorer in South Africa vs India Test series. The pitches were not ideal for batting, but still, Kohli stood tall.

Now, the Indian cricket stalwart has left former West Indies great Brian Lara in the all-time career-high ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen. The rankings got updated after Johannesburg Test between India and South Africa and Virat earned 12 points. He is now on 912 points and in 26th position on the all-time list.

Sir Don Bradman is on the top of the list with 961 points. Australian skipper, who has topped the current ICC Test Rankings, Steve Smith is second on the all-time list on 947 points. While moving from 31st to 26th position, Kohli has surpassed Lara (911), Kevin Pietersen (909), Hashim Amla (907), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (901) and Michael Clarke (900).

For India, Sunil Gavaskar has the highest points (916) in Tests. Virat has a good chance to set a new batting record for India.

The recently concluded Test series of India also helped the Indian bowlers to progress in the rankings for bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has entered the top 20 for the first time in his career after lifting two places to take 20th position, Ishant Sharma is now on 26th spot and Jasprit Bumrah is at a career-high 46th position. Mohammed Shami is at the 15th position.
