There were a total of 3 matches played today in the ICC U19 World Cup 2018. While Afghanistan won against New Zealand to advance to the semis, the rest of the two matches were actually inconsequential in respect to the current status of the tournament.

Papua New Guinea U19 vs Ireland U19, Plate playoff Semi-Final 1

Ireland comfortably won the match against PNG chasing down 122 inside 40 overs losing just 4 wickets. It was a nice show by the promising Irish team, unfortunately, all came a  little too late in the tournament though as their chances to play the knockouts are over.

In an evenly contested match, SL U19 pipped Zimbabwe to victory.  The young Sri Lankan batsmen showed character and class to overhaul the Zimbabwean total of  260 and won the match by  5 wickets.
