U19 World Cup 2018, QF 2: Pakistan win a thriller against South Africa

Pakistan advances to the semi finals to be played on January 30.

Keeping up their good form in the tournament, Pakistan won the second quarter-final against South Africa by 3 wickets with 13 balls to spare. 

Winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bowl first. Shaheen Afridi again led the attack taking 2 key wickets in his spell. The other bowlers shared the wickets around them as Pakistan managed to restrict South Africa to 189. 

They did not have the best of starts chasing 190 as they were down to 4 wickets inside the first 20 overs. Ali Zayrab Asif then carried his bat through scoring an unbeaten 74 to guide Pakistan to a memorable victory. 

The chase became tough at the end, but Asif kept his cool to take his team home. A win thus advances Pakistan to the semi-finals starting 29th and 30th January.

The winners between India and Bangladesh who will be playing the fourth quarter-final on Friday will face Pakistan.
