England wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 100 off 83 balls during the third ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday (January 21) created a lot of buzz on social media sites.
England were down and out at 189 for 6 after 38 overs when Buttler unleashed a havoc on the hosts by adding an unbroken stand of 113-run for the seventh wicket with Chris Woakes, who contributed 53*.
Buttler's assault on Australia’s fiery pace trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins & Josh Hazlewood was appreciated by everyone but the biggest compliment he received was from former England skipper Michael Vaughan, who went on to rate the freakish English wicketkeeper-batsman as the best middle order one-day batsman in the world, ahead of India's MS Dhoni.
I don’t think there is a better No5/6 Batsman in the World against the White Ball than @josbuttler..... This is becoming a winning score now for England ... #AUSvsENG

Jos is England’s answer to MSD ... I wouldn’t swap Jos for anyone at the moment though .... https://t.co/k7cKhBZSNv

Vaughan’s remarks certainly didn’t go down well with the Indian fans as they trolled him harshly for comparing Buttler with Dhoni, who averages more than 50 in white-ball cricket despite playing more than 300 matches.
Seeing the Indian fans’ reaction, Vaughan decided to conduct a poll on Twitter hoping that majority of people will vote for the England glovesman considering his recent form.
“Intrigued what you all think...You are allowed 1 of these 2 now in your team... Who you going for on present form !??” Vaughan wrote in his Twitter poll question while putting the name of Jos Buttler and MS Dhoni as candidates.

However, the outcome was a bit different to what Michael Vaughan must have expected as Dhoni won the opinion poll convincingly by fetching 69% votes. This lead the former England captain to tweet: “Note to self .... Never run a poll asking people to choose an England player over an Indian Player on here ... !!!!! #OnOn”.
