Shaheen Afridi - A Salman Khan fan speaks about his Hindi

Pakistan have lost only game so far in the U 19 World Cup in New Zealand.

U19 left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi is currently in New Zealand to represent his trade for Pakistan in the ongoing Under 19 Cricket World Cup 2018.

The 17-year old, who has been continuously tormenting oppositions with his fiery fast bowling in the tournament, played a key role in Pakistan's  victories in the two games in the group stage, taking 6 wickets against Ireland and 2-wickets against Sri Lanka. Pakistan has lost a sole game in the tournament t so far against Afghanistan, where Afridi has taken the only wicket.

Now, the pacer is the second highest wicket-taker with nine wickets in three games in the tournament. Recently, Afridi revealed in an interview revealed his interest in Bollywood movies apart from cricket. He is also growing interest in Hindi by watching Hindi films. He went on to reveal that he is the biggest fan of actor Salman Khan.

As per Wisden India, Afridi said, “Arre try me. I watch all Bollywood movies, so my Hindi is fantastic. I just saw Tiger Zindaa Hai recently, Sallu bhai ke bade fan hai!” (I’m a massive fan of Salman Khan.).”

Commenting on his English, the left-armer added, “This man of the match interview I did just now was only my second interview in English. I haven’t even learnt English in school, but I’m not too bad, right? But bhaijaan, can we have this chat in a mix of Urdu and Hindi, that will be good for both of us.”

Shaheen has recently been compared to Australian pacer Mitchell Starc because of his height and similarity in action, but the fast bowler is not agreed with it.

He signed off by saying, “I don’t even think my action has any similarity with that of Starc’s, but people keep bringing it up on the internet, By the almighty’s grace, I have got a natural action, and I haven’t really tried to model it around anyone else’s.”
