Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, on Friday, made a request to the Railways to relieve Indian all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur so that she could join Punjab Police as a DSP as soon as possible.

According to the report in The Indian Express, the 28-year-old explosive right-handed batswomen reveals that she is jobless since the World Cup 2017 in England as the all-rounder is either getting any salary from Railway nor from Punjab government.

Actually, the matter is that the Punjab Government had offered a job in the police department after her match-winning performance in the World Cup semifinal against Australia, but she has not been able to take it up because she is not being relieved by the Western Railway, where she worked as an Office Superintendent. It is also learned that Harmanpreet has signed a five-year bond the Railways and when she joined as an Office Superintendent three years ago.

The Railways even has not been accepted her resignation, saying she will have to pay Rs 27 lakh if she wishes to resign and join DSP post in Punjab government before the end of the given period.

According to IANS, Amarinder Singh said, “I have already written to the Railways twice and hope that she would be relieved soon so that she could join Punjab Police as a DSP at the earliest.”

With Punjab CM’s statement could possibly make things easy for Kaur regarding the Western Railway issue and she would be able to join Punjab Police.
