Rohit Sharma has shown how good a batsman he is in limited-overs cricket, now and then. But he failed to make an impact in the Test cricket. The Mumbai lad has faced the fire after his poor run in South Africa. He had replaced someone like Ajinkya Rahane -- one of India's best overseas batsman -- and that has added a lot of burden on him.

His struggle in South Africa has lured a lot of criticism. Though Rohit had shared a fighting 47 in the second innings of Centurion Test, that has not ensured a place for him in the side.

Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has also shown disappointment after Sharma couldn't perform expectedly. However, he compared the Indian batsman with Pakistan's great Inzamam-ul-Haq.

As per PTI, Akhtar said, “There is a lot of debate on Rohit. We all know he is a great talent but in the world, we are living you have to perform. He is very talented, I see shades of Inzamam-ul-Haq in him.” He also spoke about Ajinkya Rahane exclusion, he said: Unfortunately, he has not delivered on what was expected of him. And not having Ajinkya Rahane was shocking because he is your most technically correct batsman.”

Shoaib Akhtar also lauded the Indian pacers. He thinks they have improved but still a far away from being called as 'fast bowling nation'.

“I would not say that. I would say they are gradually improving and there is a long way to go before India can call itself a good fast bowling nation. India have always been known for their batting but nowadays you are seeing the emergence of fast bowlers too but still, I would say a long way to go.”

Akhtar is gearing up for the ice cricket with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Graeme Smith. Mahela Jayawardene, Lasith Malinga and Michael Hussey at a frozen lake in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
