The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Thursday, hinted that Dehradun –the picturesque city of Indian state –Uttarakhand, could soon become the second 'home' ground of the Afghanistan cricket team.

Earlier, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) had asked the Indian Cricket Board (BCCU) for one more home ground in the country for the better preparation of its players for the game.

In 2015, BCCI and ACB had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority,  according to which the south Asian country could use the Shahid Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex at Greater Noida as their home ground.

According to a report in the Press Trust of India, a BCCI official said about the development, “Dehradun is likely to be Afghanistan's second home ground.”

Dehradun’s Rajiv Gandhi International cricket stadium, which has a multi-purpose facility, is the state's only international level stadium.
