Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik was hit on the head while running between the wickets during the 4th ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand at Hamilton. While the right-hander continued to bat, he did not turn up to field in the second innings, as result of a delayed concussion.

Cricket world is now over concerned about head injuries since the unfortunate demise of Australian cricketer Philip Hughes.

The incident happened in the 32nd over, where Malik rushed for a quick single but was sent back by Mohammad Hafeez. While he was reaching the striker's end, a throw from Colin Munro went towards him and hit him on the back of his head. The throw was so quick that after being hit on Shoaib's head, it raced to the boundary. 

After being hit on the head, Shoaib immediately went to ground and required some medical attention before he resumed his innings. Unfortunately, Malik wasn't wearing a helmet when he came out to bat.

Good news is the veteran cricketer is doing well. He tweeted and shared the news with his fans in a cheeky way. Malik wrote, "Alhumdulilah I’m feeling great, the ball that hit me is in critical condition tho ???? Thank u dosto for all the wishes, messages, and tweets. Please remember me in your Duas ????????" 

Earlier, Pakistan physio Vib Singh had confirmed that Shoaib is fine. He said, "After getting out he was reassessed and was showing delayed concussion signs. He is doing well and is resting."
