Mohammad Irfan reveals he was offered to play Basketball

Mohammad Irfan – the tallest player in the game of cricket, was offered to play for United States’ Basketball Team, but he turned down the offer, saying Pakistan is everything for him and only play for his nation. The left-armer has made his international debut for Pakistan in 2010 against England.

Irfan, who is known for his height of 7'1" and pace, revealed about the US offer in a video, according to a report in ARY Sports. Although, the tall pacer is out of action since September 2016, as he was banned for a year for his involvement in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing scandal.

However, Irfan only served six months of the given ban because the pacer helped the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) with its ongoing investigations regarding the matter, and he didn't breach the anti-corruption code during that time.

Mohammad Irfan said, “I was offered to play basketball for the US national side, but I refused the offer as I only want to represent Pakistan. Pakistan is everything for me, what I am today is because of Pakistan. I want to play only for Pakistan.”

The 33-year-old has played four Tests, sixty ODIs, and twenty T20Is, taking 10, 83 and 15 wickets in the respective formats of the game for Pakistan.
