India U19 team kept their winning run alive, as they thrashed Papua New Guinea by 10 wickets in their second match of the ICC U19 World Cup 2018 at Mount Maunganui (New Zealand).

It was a dominating performance by the Indian U19 colts as they bowled Papua New Guinea out for just 64 runs, as the Oceanic country found the heat of Indian bowling too much. Only three of their players SK Atai (13), OL Sam (15) and SH Arua (12) reached double figures, with wickets falling in systematic manner. PNG were bowled out for 64 in 21.5 overs.

The pick of the Indian bowlers was Anukul Roy, who returned the figures of 5/14 from 6.5 overs. Shivam Mavi picked 2/16, while Nagarkoti and Arshdeep Singh picked one wicket each. Anukul Roy’s 5 wicket haul was his first ever in Youth ODI cricket.

India U19 achieved the target in just 8 overs, scoring 67 runs at 8.37 runs per over. Prithvi Shaw hit 57* in 39 balls with 12 fours and Manjot Kalra remained not out on 9.

With this 10 wicket win, India U19 became the first team to qualify for the quarterfinal stage of the ICC U19 World Cup 2018. India will take on Zimbabwe next on January 19.
