Former Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar talked about the pacers he faced during his time. In an interaction with the former Aussie speedster Brett Lee on his show 'Up in the Grill', Sachin discussed how challenging it was to play the fast bowlers of his era.

Lee asked Sachin about how did he manage to tackle all those great pacers of the 90s and 2000s. "When somebody is bowling 90MPH at you consistently, even the last over of the day, he's running at you and bowling fast, you got to be on your toes and there's a constant mind game happening between batsman and bowler," explained Sachin.

Brett Lee further asked about Tendulkar's mindset against quality pacers. Lee also revealed that when Sachin used to walk in to bat, he somehow gets his energy back even when he was tired because the pacer knew he is going to be against one of the best.

On Lee's question, Sachin said, "Yes, one has to be mentally switched on for sure. But a couple of adjustments that I made was if someone is bowling 130-135, the timing of your backlift was different and if someone is bowling 140+, you had to start early and prepare yourself to play the ball. Because you got that much less time to react."

"I had to make those adjustments someone bowling at your (Lee's) pace, Shoaib (Akhtar) or Wasim (Akram) and Waqar (Younus). I think without that adjustments things would have been different for me."

Sachin Tendulkar was one of the best players of pace for India. He used to handle them with his toned technique. However, he also had problem pacing a few bowlers. He had once named former South Africa skipper Hansie Cronje as one of the bowlers he found hard to tackle. Cronje had got the wicket of Tendulkar five times in Tests and thrice in limited-overs.
