Legendary batsman Rahul Dravid, who has been mentoring the India ‘A’ and U-19 teams for past two years, conveyed a message for the Indian fans ahead of the all-important U-19 World Cup, starting on January 13 in New Zealand.
In a video posted by Cricket World Cup on their official Twitter page, Dravid can be seen urging the Indian fans to support the Prithvi Shaw led U-19 boys, who are keen to prove their mettle in the showpiece event.
“The Indian U19 team is very keen to show you the talent and the ability that they have,” Dravid said.
“We know you’ll be watching us and we know you’ll be supporting the boys all the way. Thank you very much,” the batting great further added.

The 12th edition of ICC U-19 World Cup officially got underway at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Sunday. Warm-up matches have started a day after the opening ceremony. In their first warm-up game against South Africa U-19 on Tuesday, the Indian team registered a thumping 189-run victory. India will play their second warm-up match against the Kenya U-19 on Thursday (January 11).
India U-19 team are slotted in Group B along with Zimbabwe, Australia and Papua New Guinea U19. The final will take place at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on February 3.
