Indian Cricket Team-led by Virat Kohli will have a hectic season ahead as they will embark for a Sri Lanka tour in March, then will play IPL during the period between April-May then England tour in Jun-Sep 2018 followed by Australia tour in Nov 2018-Jan 2019 after ongoing South Africa tour.

However the most talking tours of India are England and Australia after the current South African tour, and the speculations are widespread about the venue for the first Test of the four-match series between India and Australia.

It is learned that the Perth’s new stadium, which is currently under progress, is most likely to host the series opener, which is expected to be a day-night affair but there is no confirmation from both board’s BCCI and Cricket Australia (CA), while Adelaide will host the second Test between India and Australia.

There are also reports that the Perth’s revamped stadium is expected to be ready ahead of the series opener of the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

It will be a serious challenge for the touring side India, as the series opener is expected to be played on a drop-in wicket in a bid to imitate pace and bounce of WACA’s early days.

It will be the first-ever Test played in front of a 60,000-sitting capacity in Burswood – a developing entertainment area, in Perth, Australia. The much-awaited four-match Test series will conclude with the showpiece Boxing Day and New Year’s Tests in Melbourne and Sydney respectively.
