MS Dhoni is one of the fittest cricketers in the Indian team. The veteran batsman has proved it now and then with his athleticism on the field. With India playing Tests against South Africa, Dhoni, who bid adieu to Test cricket in 2014 is making the most of this free time by working on his fitness.

Since the former India captain plays only in limited overs formats, he is working out to keep himself in shape.

As per sources of Times of India, MS Dhoni has fully dedicated himself to become  fitter. He spends two-and-half hours from eight in the morning to half-past 10 in outdoor training and then again does a plenty of indoor training and nets in the afternoon session, which is generally between 3 and 9 pm.

"It's a fixed schedule for him and he is constantly on the field training and going through the motion. There isn't a day in his life when he isn't training," a board official told TOI on Sunday.

Indian team is thinking about raising the passing score of Yo-Yo test. The perspiration off the field will help the 36-year-old to maintain his high-level fitness. He was recently seen beating young Hardik Pandya in a mini sprint during India vs Sri Lanka series.

"He is feeling fitter than the 2004-05 seasons because he couldn't get that many hours for physical training those days. With MS playing only in shorter formats, he is able to spend plenty of time to strengthen his body and discussing the nuisances of the game," an official said.

The BCCI sources also said that Dhoni has shown an interest to continue playing for India till the 2019 World Cup in England.
