Former India and Hyderabad batsman Mohammad Azharuddin said that he was humiliated by the HCA officials, as he was made to wait outside the RGICS stadium for more than an hour, when he had arrived to attend the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Special General Meeting (SGM).

According to Times of India, any members of the HCA questioned G Vivekanand’s decision to bar Azhar from attending the meeting. Azhar was allowed to attend the meeting after intervention of Congress member V Hanumantha Rao.

Azhar said "When there was a ban, I did not enter HCA and since BCCI has cleared me, you cannot stop me from attending the meeting."

Meanwhile, the HCA failed to pass the Lodha committee recommendations, despite the president claiming that they were ‘unanimously passed’. A majority of members were not in favor of adopting the reforms and wanted more transparency in the day to day affairs of the association. They also demanded fresh elections, as the current president had lost the confidence of the members.

"Everything in HCA has become undemocratic. We are making efforts to clean up the mess. Many leagues are stopped abruptly without reason," Azhar added. "No one can question my loyalty to Hyderabad and to HCA. I am here to give back something to the game. I don't want players to suffer. I am thankful to all members who helped me attend the meeting after I was prevented from doing so initially," he said.
