Mohammad Shahzad returns to Afghanistan Team after 12-month suspension

Afghanistan will play five ODIs and the three T20Is against Zimbabwe.

Afghanistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad is all set to return to the International arena after serving a 12-month suspension imposed by the ICC for violating an anti-doping rule.

The 31-year-old was imposed the 12-month suspension and was not available to play since January 17, 2017, and now after completing the given duration, he will be available to play from January 17, 2018.

Afghanistan has been announced the One Day and T20 International squad against Zimbabwe on Sunday, and they rewarded Shahzad a place into both ODI and T20I squads.

Meanwhile, the left-arm spinner Sharafuddin Ashraf, and all-rounder Hamid Hassan have also found themselves into the squad, while Asghar Stanikzai will lead Afghanistan in the limited overs series.

Afghanistan all set to play five ODIs and the three T20Is and the series will get underway with the first T20 on 5 February at Sharjah, which will host all the seven matches against Zimbabwe.
