Without an iota of doubt, India’s batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar ranks amongst the finest cricketer of all-time. Tendulkar is adored and admired by masses all across the globe and now yet another name got added to his already enriched list of admirers. This one is special because it’s none other than the superstar and legend of Indian cinema Rajnikanth.
At the ‘Natchathira Vizha 2018’ programme on Friday (January 5), Rajnikanth was asked to name the cricketers who have impressed him over the years. The icon of South Indian film industry took 4-5 names but placed the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar at the highest pedestal while naming his all-time favorite cricketer.
Rajnikanth named the legendary Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi aka Tiger Pataudi as his favorite player while growing up. The veteran actor further revealed that he used to enjoy watching former Indian off-spinner Erapalli Prasanna bowl in his younger days.
Among the modern-day cricketers, the 67-year-old Rajni without any hesitation singled out India’s wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni as his most beloved one. Dhoni recently got retained by his former IPL side Chennai Super Kings, which made a return to the lucrative tournament after serving the two-year termination. It will be interesting to see how the Jharkhand man will fare in the next edition of IPL for his adopted home Chennai.
