Australia’s hard-hitting batsman Chris Lynn became the first man to complete 100 sixes in the Big Bash League (BBL) as Brisbane Heat registered a convincing 49-run victory over Perth Scorchers on Friday (January 5).
Lynn, who recently made a comeback to competitive cricket after a career threatening shoulder injury, scored 39 off 20 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes as Heat posted a mammoth total of 191 for 6 in their 20 overs at the Gabba. Just a couple of days ago, Lynn was selected in Australia’s one-day international squad which will take on England in a 5-match ODI series from January 14.
A typical baseball-alike swing to the cow corner region brought Lynn his 100th six in the lucrative T20 event before he was dismissed by David Willey.
Praising Lynn’s herculean effort in the Big Bash League over the years, the official Twitter account of BBL posted a 1 minute 40-second long video wherein the swashbuckling opener was seen hitting 100 sixes in as many seconds.
“100 sixes in 100 seconds! Sit back and enjoy every single six hit by @lynny50 in the BBL!” the BBL Twitter page wrote in the video caption.
Lynn completed the astonishing landmark of 100 sixes in just 51 innings. The 27-year-old has also smashed 103 boundaries.
