Jharkhand's MS Dhoni will be missing the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. He informed the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) that he would not be able to represent Jharkhand in the tournament.

As per Sportstar, JSCA secretary Debasish Chakrabarty said, "Yesterday, Dhoni has officially told us that he would not be available for the tournament."

There was speculation that Dhoni may play the domestic T20 tournament since he has been visiting the stadium quite regularly to train. MS Dhoni is currently in Ranchi, spending time with his family.

But now, with the 36-year-old clearing the air over his selection, the association has decided to pick the team with the players who are available.

While the Ranchi born cricketer has decided to give the domestic T20 tournament a miss, Baroda all-rounder Irfan Pathan has been dropped from the side. Deepak Hooda will be leading the side.

Recently, Dhoni was retained by his former franchise Chennai Super Kings for upcoming IPL 2018. He along with Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja will be making a comeback to the franchise after two years.

The former India skipper was happy to be back in yellow jersey again. A video was shared by the official Twitter account of Chennai Super Kings where Dhoni was seen signing the contract.
