Ajinkya Rahane – Indian Vice-Captain in Tests, on Wednesday, revealed that he likes the focus and concentration level of Virat Kohli which he never drops even after smashing a ton in Test cricket.

He further lauded Kohli's talent to convert tons into double centuries, saying the hunger to score more runs even after reaching milestones is the key of his success with the bat, as Rahane believes that it is quite easy to score a hundred but it is very difficult to carry that and play those big knocks after such knocks which needed a different kind of dedication and skill-set and that all great qualities Kohli has.

Since 2016, the dashing right-hander has been enjoying dream runs with the bat, becoming the first batsman to score double hundreds in four successive Test series during India's last home season.

Still, Kohli has been continuing to score runs, hammering back-to-back double hundreds in the recently concluded Test series against Sri Lanka in Nagpur and Delhi. Now, the 28-year-old has six double hundreds and that put him on the top along with batting greats Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag for most double tons by Indians in the longest format of the game.

Speaking to India Today, Rahane said, “What I like about him especially in Test cricket is his conversion of 100s into 200s. I mean his focus level; concentration level after 100 never drops.”

The 29-year-old further added on the same, “He is still hungry, he wants to do well, he wants to contribute towards the team and that's a great quality he has. You can easily score a 100 and play your shots and throw your wicket (away) but if you see him after scoring a hundred, he actually tightens his game, takes his time, again and again, wants to convert it into a big one.”

Rahane went to further added that he feels good to have like Kohli, who always backs each and every one in the national side and whose passion has kept the team together. He concluded by saying, “I mean he is very passionate; we all know that. And he is actually keeping all of us together. He backs each and every one. I feel it's good to have him and so many things to learn from him as a captain.”
