Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed, on Tuesday, urged his players to play their natural game in the upcoming limited overs' tour of New Zealand. He is also confident that his bowling attack will be enjoyable despite some injuries, as well as, his batting line-up will do well against the Black Caps.

Pakistan set to play five One Day Internationals and three T 20 Internationals in New Zealand starting with the first ODI at Basin Reserve on 6 January 2018.

As per Business Recorder, Sarfraz Ahmed told reporters at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, “The team is united and we are all eagerly looking forward for the series against a very good New Zealand side. Our batting target is to play positive cricket in such conditions if one doesn’t attack the opposition bowling line, it will get under pressure. Our players will perform well in the series.”

The skipper further added, “I am hopeful that the batting lineup will perform well too. The ban on Hafeez’s bowling is a big setback for us, we will give his role to Shoaib Malik. The openers, including Fakhar, Azhar, and Imam, all are naturally aggressive, so I would like them to carry on with their natural game against New Zealand.”

Sarfraz also mentioned that he will miss the services of their fast bowlers Junaid Khan, Imad Wasim and Usman Khan Shinwari, who were sidelined due to injuries, during the tough New Zealand tour.

He added, “Even though we will be without Imad [Wasim], Junaid [Khan] and Usman [Khan Shinwari], who were clearly our go to bowlers in the past series, I have full confidence in this bowling attack to do well in New Zealand. I hope the replacements will be able to live up to the expectations.”

On being asked what instructions have been given to the openers for the NZ tour, Sarfraz said, “There are no special instructions. We just want them to play their natural game since all of them are very good players.”
