Virender Sehwag was known for his brilliance with the bat in both Tests and ODI’s and the way he always played the game in the right kind of attitude.  Recently, in a chat show, the 39-year-old got reminiscing and revealed how he missed his third triple century in a match against Sri Lanka at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai played in December 2009.

Speaking in a chat show hosted by Vikram Sathaye called ‘What the Duck’ Sehwag shared an instance when legendary off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan dismissed him seven runs short of another triple century. Sehwag admitted that it was only time when he cared about reaching a milestone but ultimately couldn’t make it.

Sehwag also shared the fact that there was a gift awaiting from Sachin Tendulkar if he scored the triple ton next morning. Sehwag was elated as he was confident about scoring the triple hundred and reaching the milestone while he was batting in the middle which he admitted has never happened before during the other two triple hundreds.

To his unfortunate luck though, Sehwag was dismissed for 293 by Muralitharan as he fell short by 7 runs.
