AB de Villiers will make a comeback to Test cricket in the upcoming series against India starting from January 5 next year. Before the series, AB is busy in his own preparations and is setting his sights at scoring big in the series.

Before the series thus in a media interaction did AB de Villiers speak about the impact of the series on his career and his plans for it.

“I want to contribute, want to play knocks and have my say in the field‚ share my experience‚ take some catches in order for us to win games of cricket,” he said.

“I received the white clothing on yesterday again, with the new pullover, and felt it like my first game again. It is very exciting and really looking forward to walking out there again and getting some results under the belt. Hopefully we play some good cricket against Zimbabwe and then take it for there,” talking about the only test against Zimbabwe, he added.

De Villiers also gave a highlight into how his RCB teammate Virat Kohli would be preparing for the series and that his comeback would make the team even stronger than ever. “It (India series) is huge. They have played a lot better in our conditions over the last few series that they have played here compared to the 1990s. I think they are a team that is young and determined. It will be a great challenge for us. We know all about Virat Kohli and how determined he is as a captain. He will definitely try to come here and win and to make history. We are well aware of that and we will prepare accordingly,” ABD stated.

The importance of the series also lies in the fact that India are yet to win a Test series in South Africa and Virat Kohli and his man are might just be the right team to change the script.
