Amid of Rohit Sharma's destruction, the visiting team suffered a huge loss as all-rounder Angelo Mathews had to leave the ground after a serious hamstring tear in the second T20I. He was in his third over - 12th in the Indian innings.

The injury looked serious as Matthews didn't even come out to bat before Sri Lanka suffered a huge 88-run defeat chasing a mammoth total of 260 in Indore on Friday.

As per Cricbuzz reports, Matthews has been ruled out of the third T20I citing the injury confirms Sri Lankan team manager.

"Angelo will not play the last game of the series. According to the physiotherapist Nirmalan Dhanabalasingham, he will be out for about two weeks," Sri Lanka's team manager Asanka Gurusinha.

It's not the first time for former Sri Lankan skipper when hamstring forced him to stay away from cricket. He was out for five months and when he made his return during the Champions Trophy in England, he played only as a specialist batsman.

Matthew's exclusion from the third T20I won't make much difference as India has already sealed the series with a 2-0 lead in Indore. It was Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul who choked the Sri Lankan bowlers with their murderous batting.

More than bowling, Sri Lankan batting was a huge disappointment considering the easy batting track. They lost last 6 wickets in just 12 balls.
