Watch: PM Narendra Modi’s special gift for Virushka on their wedding reception

Earlier this week, the newly married couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma returned to New Delhi after their honeymoon trip to Finland and Rome. The lovebirds got hitched at a destination wedding in Tuscany, Italy on December 11.

The power couple hosted a grand reception at the Durbar Hall of Taj Diplomatic Enclave in New Delhi on Thursday (December 21) wherein the honourable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi marked his presence. PM Modi came to give blessings to the newlyweds. Wearing a grey outfit, he posed with Anushka and Virat who could not stop smiling.

Kohli was seen sporting a sherwani while Anushka wore a striking red and gold sari. The lovebirds were dressed in Sabyasachi, who also designed their wedding wardrobe. Moreover, the adorable couple received a special gift from the Prime Minister himself.

In a video posted by Virat Kohli’s fan club “virushka_slayz” on social photo site Instagram, the couple can be seen accepting sweet roses from PM Modi.

On Wednesday (December 20), Virat and Anushka had also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend their marriage reception invitation. PMO India’s official Twitter handle had shared the picture of the power couple with PM Modi.

"Captain of the Indian cricket team @imVkohli and noted actor @AnushkaSharma met PM @narendramodi this evening. The Prime Minister congratulated them on their wedding", the PMO India handle captioned the image.

It is learnt that the Delhi reception will be followed by a reception in Mumbai on December 26th for Anushka’s industry friends and Kohli’s fellow cricketers.

Kohli will depart for South Africa tour with his Indian teammates on December 27. Team India are scheduled to play three Tests, six ODIs and three T20Is against the Proteas, with the series opener starting with Cape Town Test on January 5, 2018.
