New Zealand Cricket (NZC), on Thursday, has named the fast bowler Seth Rance as a replacement for injured Adam Milne for the ongoing One Day Internationals and the upcoming T20Is against West Indies.

Ahead of the victorious first ODI, the Kiwi pacer Milne injured his foot and due to which he missed Whangareiand’ five-wicket win of his side, and now the NZC release said Adam felt discomfort in his left foot while landing to bowl and will continue to be evaluated, as well as he is ruled out of the series.

Although, Rance has played a couple of ODIs for the Black Caps, he is yet to make his debut in T20 cricket, and New Zealand selector Gavin Larsen, who impressed with Seth’s domestic performance, believes that Rance is ready to represent the country in the limited overs cricket.

As per ESPN Cricinfo, Gavin Larsen said, “Seth comes into the squad off the back of consistently strong domestic performances. We were already looking at Seth for the upcoming Twenty20 series, so this just brings him into the squad slightly earlier than anticipated.”

While commenting on injured Milne, Larsen said. “Adam has a great work ethic and puts a lot into his fitness, so I certainly feel for him with this injury. It's a long summer and there's a lot of cricket left for Adam to play, so we'll work with him to get him back to full fitness.”

Apart from Milne, New Zealand will also be without their regular skipper Kane Williamson and Tim Southee, who were rested for the remaining ODIs. The second ODI is scheduled to play at Hagley Oval on Saturday (23 December).
