Bangladesh spearhead Al – Amin Hossain is the latest convict to be charged with illegal bowling action. Playing for Comilla Victorians franchise during the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), match officials objected Al-Amin for his bowling action.

He was subsequently reported for a suspected illegal bowling action during the fifth edition of BPL against Khulna Titans match on November 28. The on-field umpires of that match accused Al-Amin of bowling with an illegal action in the 15th over during the match against the Titans. Although he was allowed to bowl for the remainder of the BPL, he had to undergo a bowling test.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Management Information Manager Nasiruddin Ahmed Nasu in his interaction with the media after the match confirmed the news regarding his illegal bowling action.

“Some of his bowling videos were analyzed after BPL in which his action showed troublesome. Al-Amin Hossain will be in rehabilitation for several days from now on. He could come under testing whenever he feels confident about his bowling” said Nassiruddin.

This was not the first time when Hossain was charged with illegal bowling action as he was charged in 2014 as well when Bangladesh were playing a series against West Indies. The match officials’ report was also presented to the Bangladesh team manager Habibul Bashar after the team’s 10-wicket loss to the Windies and cited concerns about the legality of Al-Amin’s action.
