MS Dhoni was instrumental in Chahal's four wicket haul

India defeated Sri Lanka by a record margin of 93 runs in the first T20I at Cuttack, which was the biggest margin of win for India in T20Is and biggest margin of loss for Sri Lanka.

India scored 180/3 with aid from KL Rahul’s 61 runs, Shreyas Iyer’s 24, Manish Pandey’s 32* off 18 and a MS Dhoni special of 39* off 22 balls, including a last ball six. MS Dhoni was on fire with the bat and brilliant behind the stumps as well, as he took two catches and stumped two batsmen out.

During the course of the match, MS Dhoni also notched up three records in hisT20I career as well.

Dhoni’s 39 not out and 4 dismissals made him the first Indian wicketkeeper to post 35 or more runs and effect four dismissals in the same T20I. He now joins other wicketkeepers like South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, who has done this feat twice and Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal.

MS Dhoni also became the first wicketkeeper to make four dismissals in a T20I involving India and Sri Lanka.

MS Dhoni became the second wicketkeeper to complete 200 or more dismissals in T20 cricket. He now has 201 dismissals in 272 matches and trails Kamran Akmal’s record of 207 dismissals in 211 matches.

MS Dhoni was promoted to bat at no.4 by captain Rohit Sharma and his record backs that decision. Dhoni aggregates 244 in eleven innings with seven not out innings, including his first half century - 56 vs England at Bengaluru on February 1, 2017. His strike rate of 134.01 is quite remarkable at this batting position.
