Good news for Brisbane Heat fans ahead of BBL 07

Brendon McCullum got a three-year extension with the Brisbane Heat- a Big Bash League (BBL) franchise on Tuesday and now former New Zealand skipper will continue with the franchise till 2019-2020.

As per Cricbuzz, Andrew McShea - Brisbane Heat General Manager, said, “Brendon’s impact on our club on and off the field is significant and the values that he represents are also those that we see as integral to the Brisbane Heat. It’s been an important year with the management of our playing list with a large number of players committing to long-term deals including Chris Lynn.”

During the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), McCullum had broken his left hand while playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders, but later he made stunning came back after recovering from the injury in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), as he helped Rangpur Riders to the BPL title.

Current Brisbane Heat skipper McCullum was the highest run-getter for the side in the last season of the BBL with an aggregate of 323 runs.

Meanwhile, Brisbane Heat coach Daniel Vettori said, “He has made an excellent recovery from the broken arm and his last three or four innings in Bangladesh were impressive. We’re all looking forward to getting straight into our preparations ahead of Wednesday’s game.”

The 2017-18 season of the BBL has already begun with the exciting encounter between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers on 19 December, and Thunder won by 5 wickets at their home ground, Sydney. Today, the Brisbane Heat will take on Melbourne Stars in the second BBL game at The Gabba.
