In a bizarre state of affairs, a BJP politician from Madhya Pradesh named ‘Panna Lal Shakya’ has raised question over the nationalism of India skipper Virat Kohli, who tied the knot with Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma in a hush-hush ceremony in Tuscany, Italy last week. The veteran legislator of the ruling party slammed Kohli for preferring Italy over India to get married.

"Virat earned money in India... But he didn't find any place to marry in the country. Is Hindustan untouchable?" Panna Lal Shakya, the BJP legislator from Guna was quoted by PTI as saying.

"Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Vikramaditya, Yudhishthir got married on this land. You all must have got married here. None of us goes to a foreign country to get married ... (Kohli) earned money here and spent billions there (Italy)... (he) doesn't have any respect for the country. This proves he is not a patriot," he further said.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the power couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma will be hosting a reception on December 21 in New Delhi for their near and dear ones which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and Kohli’s fellow cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.

The lovebirds will begin their journey as Mr. and Mrs. at their new home in Worli, Mumbai. Their 7,171-sq-ft-sea-view home on the 34th floor worth nearly Rs. 34 crore.

As far as their respective work is concerned – Kohli will head off to South Africa with his Indian teammates on December 27. Team India are slated to play three Tests, six ODIs and three T20Is against the Proteas, with the series opener starting with Cape Town Test on January 5, 2018. Wife Anushka will also accompany Virat during the new year eve in South Africa. However, she will return to India in the first week of January to start preparing for her next movie with Shah Rukh Khan.
