The Indian team will be flying to South Africa and they look clear with their choices. The men in blue has many good options for opening batting spots, but the team management has seemed to have made their choice transparent to uncomplicate things.

Indian batting will be tested in the foreign conditions and they will have to fix their side before taking the first step into the Test series at South Africa.

Recently, Ravi Shastri talked about India's opening spot and expressed his desire to play Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay for the same.

We may see KL Rahul missing games on the tour as per Shastri. India's head coach in an interaction with CNN News 18 said that Rahul should wait for his chance to come.

"Young Rahul is immensely talented and he will get his opportunity at some stage. He might have to wait for a little while, but he will get his opportunity. He has got immense talent, and I think he is the most improved player in the last 18 months or so. It's just unfortunate he couldn't convert those 60s into a 150 or 120. But he learns, being with the team he learns."

Talking about the middle order batting he added, "When you look at the openers, you got them there. You look at the middle order, you got a good middle order; experience and they have got a tremendous skill there as well. Virat, Rohit, Ajinkya, and Pujara, you know you got a solid middle order. Then you got the all-rounders and then you got the fast bowlers and spinners."

"You have variety there, you have the combination there that can work in South Africa," he added.
