Virat Kohli took a break from cricket for personal reasons and that gave Rohit Sharma a chance to lead the Indian side. Rohit's record as a captain is impressive in the Indian Premier League, but this international cricket.

Though the opposition was relatively weak in his maiden international series as skipper, it turned out to be a bit challenging for Rohit Sharma, especially after a humiliating defeat in the first ODI. However, his double century in the second ODI ensured they get the momentum back.

India won the series by 2-1 with the win in Vizag on Sunday. This was India's eighth successive bilateral ODI series win. The man of the match in third ODI was Kuldeep Yadav for his impressive performance which helped India to comeback.

Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was asked about the Rohit’s captaincy and also asked how different he is to Virat Kohli. The spinner refrained from comparing the two skipper.

He said, “One cannot compare both individuals. Virat’s captaincy is different and so is Rohit’s. Our main focus is on our bowling. We discuss the fielding positions. We can discuss things with Rohit and MS Dhoni also chips in. There was no such difference,” said Yuzvendra Chahal when asked about Virat and Rohit.

Rohit Sharma was good with the bowling changes. He brought the right bowler at the right time and his ace bowlers delivered for him.

India will be playing a T20I series against Sri Lanka on 20th December and Rohit will lead the Indian side again in absence of Virat.
