One of most adored celebrity couples i.e. the heartthrob of Indian cricket Virat Kohli and Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Tuscany on Monday (December 11). The lovebirds took the internet by storm with their beautiful pictures and everyone started to talk about the designer, whose creations gave some major wedding wear goals.
Ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who recently became the talk of the town with his wedding design for newlyweds Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge, is the one who completed the wedding wardrobe of Virat and Anushka.
Virat Kohli looked awesome in an ivory sherwani designed by Sabyasachi. Wearing a hand-embroidered off-white raw-silk bandhgala, with golden motifs, he looked a well-dressed gentleman. Moreover, the exquisite kalgi (turban pin) consisting of small uncut diamonds was complementing his sherwani.
Sabyasachi also unveiled his wedding design for Anushka. The Bolly queen looked flawless in traditional uncut diamond bridal jewellery with heavy mathapith and nath and, of course, a gorgeous, delicately hand-embroidered yet elaborate ensemble.
The couple chose designer Sabyasachi also dressed the couple for their mehendi ceremony and engagement. For the mehendi, Anushka opted for a boho lehenga in hot pink and Indian orange with gota and marori while Kohli looked dapper in a khadi kurta with a fuchsia pink textured silk Nehru jacket.
The adorable couple will start their journey as Mr. and Mrs. at their new home in Worli, Mumbai. Their 7,171-sq-ft-sea-view home on the 34th floor worth nearly Rs. 34 crore.
As far as their respective work is concerned – Kohli will head off to South Africa with his Indian teammates on December 27. Wife Anushka will also accompany him during the New Year’s Eve, however, she will return to India in the first week of January to start preparing for her next movie with Shah Rukh Khan.
