Die-hard Indian cricket team fan Sudhir Chaudhary pays for Sri Lankan counterpart Gayan’s India trip

Sudhir Chaudhary, who is also known as Sudhir Kumar Gautam – the biggest supporter of the Indian Cricket Team, on Saturday, became a breakthrough news after there were reports that he paid all the expenses for his Sri Lankan counterpart Gayan Senanayake for the three Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in India. This is a return gesture from Sudhir after Gayan sponsored his Sri Lanka trips on four occasions.

It is known, the Sri Lankan side is currently in India for the three Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is, and this time Mr. Sudhir decided to do something for his counterpart as a return gesture because Gayan sponsored his Lankan trips on four occasions.  

Sudhir - the most recognized Indian cricket fan – whose poor financial condition could not become a snag of its way in the hospitality of his friend in India, extended the gesture by bearing the cost of Gayan’s flight tickets, visa fee, lodging/boarding and traveling to different cities in India for the matches.

Speaking to Mid-Day in Dharamsala, Sudhir Chaudhary said, “He took good care of me when I went to Sri Lanka — twice in 2012, then in 2015 when Kumar Sangakkara retired and now this year. I thought this time I should bear his expenses as he was planning to come for the entire series.”

Meanwhile, Gayan Senanayake said that he always wanted to see the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, but he failed, although, this time he fulfilled his wish just before the third and final Test in New Delhi.

He added on the same, “I am grateful to Sudhir for showing me, Taj Mahal. I always wanted to go there, but never got an opportunity.”

Sudhir also said that he and Gayan shares a great bond of a special friendship that goes beyond cricket, adding, “He is more than a friend to me now. We share a great bond.”
