Team India got thrashed by Sri Lanka in the first ODI at Dharmashala by 7 wickets. The visitors found it easy to get under the skin of Team India, which was led by Rohit Sharma for the first time, in absence of full-time skipper Virat Kohli.

India scored a measly 112 runs, after being 29/7 at one point. Sri Lanka reached the target with more than 170 balls to spare, with 7 wickets in hand.

Former India fast bowler and cricket pundit, Ajit Agarkar, suggested that India should play the young Tamil Nadu all-rounder Washington Sundar in the upcoming matches of the series. As per the reports of ESPNcricinfo, the former Indian cricketer feels Sundar may add to the balance of the Indian side.

Agarkar seems to be impressed with the young lad's domestic season. “I will really be tempted to get in Washington Sundar. He has got enough runs in First Class cricket this year and he can bowl in the shorter formats,” quoted Ajit Agarkar.

Agarkar, while speaking in a video for ESPNcrinfo, pressed upon the need to include Sundar in the Indian playing XI.

The former pacer also talked about chasm in Hardik Pandya's bowling abilities and he said, "Washington Sundar is an interesting addition to the team. Maybe that is something they will look going forward. If Hardik Pandya is your fifth bowler, you would need a sixth bowler to help out with the few overs."

Agarkar also spoke about Ajinkya Rahane's inclusion in the side. He feels that the middle-order batsman can only play, if the conditions at Mohali are similar to that of Dharamsala.
