The former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra will be seen mentoring the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Indian Premier Leauge (IPL) next year. The pacer retired earlier this month playing against New Zealand in his home ground, Delhi. He had said not to play any cricket further, but he couldn't control himself from being a part of the game.

After retiring, he soon joined the commentary team and still a part of it.

Though there is no official announcement from the team but as per Mumbai Mirror's report, Nehra himself disclosed about the assignment with close friends and teammates. The news got discussed during Zaheer Khan’s marriage reception in Mumbai last week when Nehra confirmed the development with some of his friends.

However, the retired bowler has not responded to the questions about this, but as claimed by Mumbai Mirror, some of his former teammates and a couple of IPL franchises have confirmed it.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli might have recommended the pacer to the franchise. Their bonding is very well known to the outsiders.

RCB was left without a bowling coach, after Allan Donald quit the franchise and Bharat Arun joined the Indian cricket team. We know the franchise has some of the best batsmen on their side, but they have struggled with the ball big time.

Nehra's role in the team will be key considering a mega auction coming up next year. He will have to get the best among the many to make a balanced side.
