Arjun Tendulkar had set a perfect tone in Mumbai's win over Assam in Cooch Behar Trophy match. Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun returned with figures of 4/44 in 15 overs in the second innings.

Mumbai secured the match by thrashing Assam by an innings and 154 runs. Assam was put on to bat by Mumbai after winning the toss. Thanks to Sidak Singh's five-wicket haul, their decision of bowling first looked successful as they dismantled Assam’s first innings at 94.

It was Sourav Saha from Assam's side who showed some fight as he scored a half-century when his team needed it the most. Gunjandeka was the second highest scorer for Assam and one of only two players who got into double-figures. I

Mumbai, being a strong side piled up a mountain of runs in reply and scored 357. Varun Lavande top-scored with 118 while Suved Parkar and Karan Shah smashed individual half-centuries.

Despite being pushed on the backfoot, Mukhtar Hussain gave Assam something to feel good about. Hussain scalped six Mumbai wickets while other bowlers struggled to produce fruitful results for the side.

Arjun wrapped up Assam in the second innings by his four-for. The second essay wasn't really different for Assam as they managed to score just 13 more than their first innings' total score. They were bowled out on 109 after Arjun bagged the wickets of opener Danish Ahmed, Sourav Saha, Gunjandeka and wicket-keeper Akhil Kalita. The win gave Mumbai seven points.
