England’s limited-overs opening batsman Alex Hales is likely to get away without any charges against him, for his involvement in the infamous street brawl incident outside a nightclub at Bristol.

Hales along with his teammate Ben Stokes were spotted having a go at two men in a nasty face-off outside the nightclub following the third One-Day International against the West Indies at Bristol on September 24 (Sunday).

Subsequent to the ugly brawl, both Stokes and Hales were snubbed from the fourth ODI against Windies in London as they had to cooperate with the police in the investigation process. On September 28 (Thursday), England and Wales Cricket Board released a statement saying that both the cricketers won't be considered for selection until further notice.

However, the ECB has now made it clear that Hales will be considered for selection when the Ashes tourists pick their squad for the limited-overs leg of their Australia trip following the conclusion of the ongoing second Test in Adelaide.

"Alex Hales will now be considered for England selection, following confirmation that he is no longer a suspect in relation to an incident in Bristol in September," the ECB statement read.

Stokes, who made a return to professional cricket for Canterbury Kings in New Zealand on December 3, is still waiting for the final verdict since the 26-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

The ace all-rounder might still make his return to the iconic Ashes series if the police decide not to charge him. Stokes can also be included in the limited-overs squad conditionally later this week.
