Rohit Sharma celebrates his career's second T20I hundred

Indian stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma ran over Sri Lankan bowlers at the Holkar Stadium, Indore. Rohit, who recently scored his third double century in ODI, hunted down the Lankan bowlers to score his second century in T20I cricket.

Sharma, who equaled the fastest T20I century (35 balls) with David Miller, said that he was just enjoying his game. But his enjoyment was a pain for many; especially Sri Lankan players and fans.

“The stage was set, good conditions to bat. Was trying to do what I do, hit through the line. It came off really well. Went out there and had some fun,” he said in the post-match presentation.

Skipper Rohit got out in 13th over and India still had plenty of balls left in their account. Who knows, if the owner of three double centuries, had stayed on for a bit longer, he might have reached the 200-run mark. But he said that the milestone never crossed his mind. “That’s too much to ask (a double-hundred)".

Had Rohit batted till 20th over, India could have also ended up scoring 300. However, his century (118) helped India to reach 260.

Talking about the target he said, “Any target here is not defendable, KL is in great form. There is a template to my batting, which I follow. Try to hold my shape."

Indian wrist spinners also played a vital role in India's 88-run victory.

“They have been doing well for India and always they bring us back,” said Rohit, “I don’t mind such games where they are put under pressure, they were ready to take the pressure and Kuldeep changed the game and Chahal has been doing well for some time now. So I always had belief on them.”
