Fresh from the ODI series win, India would look to pocket yet another series victory when they take on Sri Lanka in the first T20I at Cuttack on Wednesday. India will start favorites once again in the T20I series before they take off for the South Africa tour. Sri Lanka would look to bag a consolation series win in the T20Is after a disappointing ODI series. Sri Lanka can be competitive as they proved in the Dharamsala ODI. They just need to believe in themselves. Despite the results have not went in their favor in recent times, Sri Lanka have the strength and firepower to give a tough fight to their opposition. They must grab their opportunities and give a scare to India in the first T20I.

Best economical pick – Shreyas Iyer made his international debut in a T20I against New Zealand on the back of some brilliant performance in the domestic circuit. He showed his prowess in the second ODI at Chandigarh as he carted the Lankan bowlers to a score of 88 runs in 70 balls. The Mumbai-batsman replicated the same form in Vishakhapatnam as he piled on 65 runs off 63 balls to pave the way for India’s series victory.

Top captains & vice captains – Rohit Sharma has blown hot and cold in the ODI series, yet he finished as the tournament’s highest run-scorer. He fell prey to a vicious out-swinger of Suranga Lakmal in the first ODI at Dharamshala. In the third ODI in Vishakhapatnam, he was castled by Akila Dananjaya. In between, he dished out a blinder at Chandigarh. Upul Tharanga has been one of Sri Lanka’s most consistent batsmen in recent times. With Sri Lanka chasing a modest target at Dharamshala, he played a quick-fire knock of 49 runs to put his team in the driver’s seat. The second ODI at Chandigarh didn’t turn out to be a fruitful outing for the left-hander as he perished cheaply to Hardik Pandya. In the decider at Vishakhapatnam, he played another substantial knock of 95 runs.

Smart pick – Angelo Mathews is the backbone of Sri Lanka line-up. He have played for few IPL franchisees and have loads of experience of playing T20 cricket. His contribution with bat and ball would be handy for Sri Lanka to turn the game in their favor and make the best use of the available resources.

Cautious Pick – Shreyas Iyer cracked two fifties at No 3 while Dinesh Karthik was not able to make the best use of the chances he got. Karthik played a selfish knock in the 3rd ODI, so be careful before picking him in your team.

My XI – Rohit Sharma (Captain), Upul Tharanga (Vice-Captain) Angelo Mathews, Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Niroshan Dickwella, Danushka Gunathilaka, Jaydev Unadkat, Lokesh Rahul, Sadeera Samarawickrama
