During the fourth day of the ongoing third Test match between India and Sri Lanka at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, India fast bowler Mohammed Shami was seen going out of the field after puking. There were concerned being raised whether the speedster will be able to take the field on a crucial Day 5 or not, but India batsman Shikhar Dhawan has confirmed that Shami is fit and fine enough to play on the last day.

"Shami is fine. You will see him in action tomorrow," Dhawan told while addressing the media after the end of fourth day’s play.

Shami seems to have struggled after bowling three overs. His reaction was similar to Sri Lankan seamers Suranga Lakmal and Lahiru Gamage, who were seen leaving the field on Day 2 after facing breathing difficulties due to poor air quality caused by smog.

With India reducing Sri Lanka to 3/31 at stumps after setting a target of 410 runs on the fourth day, it is no brainer to say that Shami is vital to the team with three sessions left in the game especially as Virat Kohli has only four specialist bowlers in the playing XI.

Dhawan said the air pollution wasn’t much of a cause of concern but admitted that the visitors may have been troubled by the poor air quality.

"We have so many players who are not from Delhi. But we as a group have a job on our hand. Of course there is high pollution in Delhi. (But) it is our responsibility to play and focus on cricket," said Dhawan, who also belongs to Delhi.

"Probably they (Sri Lankans) may be feeling it. There are so many beaches in Sri Lanka and pollution level is less in places where there are beaches," he concluded.
