Seeing Virat Kohli’s batting prowess in recent times, former India opener Virender Sehwag has stated that the national skipper is best in the business across all 3 formats in the world.
Kohli notched up his 20th Test ton during the opening day of the third Test match against Sri Lanka at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Virat (156*) put on an exhibition as he shared a mammoth 283-run stand for the third wicket with Murali Vijay (155) to take India to 371/4 at stumps after the hosts won the toss and opted to bat. He completed his 6th double ton on Sunday.
"Flawless innings, every player should learn from him. He slowed down after his hundred so he can come back on day 2 and score a double hundred. Kohli is the best player in the world across 3 formats," Sehwag said during the post-match show on Star Sports.

Viru’s co-commentator and the recently retired India pacer Ashish Nehra even went on to predict the maiden triple ton for Kohli on the second day at Kotla.
"Kohli can even score 300 the way he is batting," Nehra said.

During his historic knock, the 29-year-old surpassed his idol Sachin Tendulkar (107) to become the second fastest Indian batsman to score 20 tons in Test cricket. Kohli (105) is only behind the legendary Sunil Gavaskar, who reached the feat in just 93 innings. Overall, Kohli is slotted in the fifth position behind Don Bradman (55), Gavaskar (93), Matthew Hayden (95) and Steve Smith (99).

Kohli's 20th Test ton also witnessed him amassing 3000 Test runs as captain. He is the third Indian skipper after MS Dhoni and Gavaskar to achieve this feat.
