India’s star opener and Vice-captain Rohit Sharma had a mixed T20I series against Ireland. He scored a sublime 97 for India in the first T20I against Ireland and set up India for a big win.

However, things didn’t go quite well in the second T20I for Rohit. First of all, he was sent in down the order, as KL Rahul opened the innings with Virat Kohli. Rohit tried to get going from the first ball itself but got out trying to hit a full delivery from Kevin O’Brien to point fielder Paul Stirling and went back to the pavilion for a duck.

This duck earned Rohit the dubious record of most ducks for any Indian batsman in T20 cricket. It was Rohit’s 19th duck and he joined Harbhajan Singh at the top of the list of Indian batsmen with most ducks in T20 cricket.

Out of the 19 ducks, Rohit has scored six ducks in T20 internationals, while the remaining 13 have come in other T20 matches. This is an unwanted record for the ‘hitman’, who owns the joint record for the fastest T20I century in 35 balls and has two centuries in the format.
