It was a wonderful day at the Village in Malahide for Siddharth Kaul, as he finally got the chance to wear the Indian jersey. Approaching the game, Indian Captain Virat Kohli had hinted that being 1-0 up, the team will look to give opportunities to those who didn't play the first game and the rotation helped Kaul, who alongside Umesh Yadav, played the second T20I with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah resting.

Kaul has been going through the grind of domestic cricket for a while and has been a key member of Punjab Ranji Team. He backed his sound numbers domestically, with a good season again for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and it helped his case with the selectors, as India continues to look for a stronger bench strength in the fast bowling department. Him making his debut, with the main attack resting, with the World Cup less than a year away, is part of the whole process.

Kaul had a swift and relaxed introduction to International cricket. He first saw India amass a very stiff 213/4 in their 20 overs before Umesh Yadav bowling the first over deliberately to ensure some nerves going away early from the debutant. Kaul then started off and immediately made a mark getting the wicket of Ireland's best young batsman James Shannon. He must have felt relieved having taken his first wicket for India and proving his worth.

Kaul then enjoyed the Indian wrist-spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal run through the Irish batting line-up for just 70, as India finished off the series 2-0 up with a 143 run win.

He then, took to the social media network Twitter to express his happiness and posted a tweet in much the "trending fashion".

Kaul, who got many congratulatory messages on the day, but he also received one from his Sunrisers Hyderabad teammate, Rashid Khan. The sensation from Afghanistan amusingly replied to Siddharth's tweet, which reads, "Well done my champion bro congrats really happy for you @sidkaul22  ????????????????????????"
