Punjab pacer Siddharth Kaul made his debut for India in the second T20I against Ireland at The Village in Malahide, Dublin on Friday (June 29). The 75th T20I player for India, Kaul, received his maiden India cap from the legendary MS Dhoni prior to the toss.

It was a memorable debut for Siddharth as he claimed a wicket and conceded only 4 runs in his two overs while the Men in Blue annihilated the hosts by 143 runs to clinch the T20I series 2-0.

After the thumping win, Kaul showed his humorous side on Twitter. The 28-year-old pacer posted his two contrasting images and used a popular meme caption “Ghar se nikalte hi kuch dur chalte hi” to describe it. In the first picture, Kaul can be seen playing cricket in his childhood while he is receiving the national cap from Dhoni in the second one.

Siddharth Kaul then got a bit serious and expressed his emotions on wearing the India jersey.

“This is what I grew up for. This is where I always wanted to be. Wearing my country's Jersey and representing it on ground. To receive the honour from Mahi Bhai made it much more special ❤️ @msdhoni” Kaul wrote in his second tweet while quoting BCCI.

As far as the match is concerned – India rode on KL Rahul and Suresh Raina’s brilliance to post a mammoth total of 213/4 in 20 overs. While Rahul scored a breathtaking 70 off 36 balls (3 fours and 6 sixes), Raina played a scintillating knock of 69 runs in 45 balls (5 fours and 3 sixes). The duo forged a 106-run partnership for the second wicket.

Defending the total, India’s wrist spinners weaved their magic once again to bundle out Ireland at a mere 70 in 12.3 overs. Kuldeep Yadav, the hero of the last match, claimed 3 for 16 in 2.3 overs whereas Yuzvendra Chahal, who was adjudged Man of the Series, scalped 3 for 21 in his 4 overs.

For Team India, it was just the kind of start they were hoping for before the all-important England tour. India’s tour of England will commence on Tuesday (July 3), with a T20I affair at the Old Trafford, Manchester.
